Passion For Fashion!

Italians are definately one of the best dressed cultures in the world. They never dress ugly and absolutely not in last weeks trend like us Americans do! We're a country that pretty much doesn't care about much! I wonder what Italians would think of my clothes,

Because....

My Favorite outfit just to wear around whether its shopping or hanging out with friends, would simply have to be light washed American Eagle jeans with holes of course and just a hoodie... Doesn't matter what style, just any will do for me!!

Hmm, instyle? Everyone has a totally different definition for this one word because everyone has their own opinion. Instyle for Union City would have to be jean, definately.. um, hoodies/sweatshirts, sweatpants, just a simple tshirt from Aeropostale or American Eagle, because living in a small town like Union City is all we can afford, unless we save and save and save some money to go to a big place like New York to buy real designer clothes!

My most expensive piece of clothing that I can think of would have to be my prom dress.. It's made of silk and some other things that I'm not quite sure of?! But i know its my most expensive!

If I could buy anything to wear, I would buy an Ed Hardy hoodie that I seen at the mall, i think it costs around $200 or something that I find really awesome looking when I'm up by New York this summer :)

Heck yes, i know BIG designer names! Lets start from the top!

*Gucci

*Dolce and Gabbana

*Coach

*Prada

*Jimmy Choo

*Chanel

*Louis Vuitton

*Juicy

*Dooney and Burke

I know that Gucci and Dolce and Gabbana are Italian. I think the others are just American made.

If i could dress a teenager from Italy to make them fit in here, I would take them to either Hollister or American Eagle and get them whatever looks good on them there.. Because 90% of teenagers here where those type of clothes! What would you dress them up as?!

New 9 Weeks New Language!

So excited to start Italian :)
I actually don't know a thing about Italy. Just that the guys are pretty fine and pizza came from there?!

But... What i would like to learn is:

*the common food that even Americans eat
* music Italians listen too
* the most popular cars to drive
* the "certain" ages you have to be to do "certain things"
*what teenagers do, of course!
* their use of technology. like cellphones, ipods, stuff like that!

So Friday! Even though I've been here like
twice, I'm seriously going to buy some of that
icecream :) and maybe, just maybe some sushi?

The END is near!

Konnichi Wa!

I can't believe learning about Japanese and their way life is almost over!! Thats insane, dont cha think?! To be honest, I really liked learning Japanese, taking that i think some of the japanese guys are hot, because i've watched Fast and the Furious Tokyo Drift so many times, my t.v. is actually getting a little irritated at me :)!

My most favorite part was the origami, because i'd rather be folding paper into odd shapes, even though i suck at it, than doing any sort of class work :) seriously, what teenager wants to do any type of work, period?!

So, origami... Ever tried it?! I suggest not too, it makes you crazy, because the directions are so hard to understand, its unbelieveable. HAHA :) Well at least I can't understand it. I'd have to say that the only time I would try origami is if all my electronics had a dead battery and if our house didn't have power for some sort of reason! And furoshiki, it's a cheap and traditional Japanese way of wrapping gifts.. You use a type of cloth and can use it over and over again.. If you don't have alot of money or just a plain ole' cheap skate, then you don't have to put a crow bar to your wallet to wrap a gift, just grab a piece of cloth and wrap it the furoshiku way! :)

Squeeze, thats a funny word! :) Well I was going to say SQUEEZE in a food day, but we're doing that tomorrow, so i can't say that anymore! But i think you covered everything I wanted to know about Japan.. Thanks for listening to my wants and needs :)

You know what? For your first year of teaching a Foreign Language class, i think you did a freaking awesome job, you learned alot and taught us alot. I can't really think of anything you need to work on, it was a pretty awesome experiance with Japaneseeee.

But im starting to blab and blab and blab, so im off :)
See you l8r!

Bushida? Yay or Nay?

Bushida, a Japanese warrior class for men that were skilled in martial arts. They had no fear in death and would enter any battle no matter the odds. Ever heard of them? Well probably not, because they don't exist in the United States. Only in Japan when it formed during the 9th and 12th century. Would you of been a Bushida?

If you said yes, why don't you take some time to think about it. Seriously.

Your way of everyday thinking could be affected. A Samurai would rather kill himself than bring shame and disgrace to his family name and/or lord. Would our lord be President Obama? hmm, i don't know either.. But the Samurai would seppuku themselves, also known as 'disembowelment'. It's when a Samurai stabs a knife into his gut and literally disembowels himself. Which is so disgusting!!! Then a kinsman or a friend of the Samurai would slice off his head to complete the suicide!! This was considered an act of true honor! Pretty crazy, huh?
You can't just call yourself a Samurai, you have to fully worship The Samurai Creed.. It's mainly just about you have absolutely nothing until you accomplish and make everything needed to live and survive yourself.. If you still think you can be a Samurai, change your mind yet?
Bushido has influenced many different things, like Buddhism and Buddhism has influenced Bushido. To be Bushido you must have pacification of the emotions, tranquil compliance with the inevitable, self control in the face of any event, have a more intimate exploration of death than of life, and have pure poverty. Still up for being Bushido?
Bushido is definately NOT in our lifestyle. It's the total opposite. I mean theres Buddist people but no where around where I'm from. I don't think I would want to live around those kind of people anyway. I probably wouldn't sleep ever. Be way to afraid. AHHHHH! :/

American Homes VS Japanese Homes. which is better?

A Japanese House

^ An American House ^

American and Japanese homes have alot of differences but possibly some similarities too. Maybe?

For Instance, Japanese Bathrooms have the most coolest tubs ever, have you ever seen one in real life? Don't worry.. Me either! But unlike American ones, which you can barely fit in because they're rectangle and you usually have to scrunch your legs because the tubs not long enough, well japanese tubs are circular and you can just sit right in it instead of lying down. How cool is that?
What about your shoes? You probably just kick them off at the door when you get home like I do, right? Well in Japan, it's a different story, you sort of kick them off but in a neat, nicely way and set them perfectly by the doa. Knowing me I would forget to take my shoes off nicely and get in some serious trouble.. Haha :)
Did you ever think that rugs(known as tatamis in Japan) we use to walk on or use for decoration in our homes would be so important to a Japanese family? Well they are, Japanese people use them to cover their ofuros to sleep on at night time. The only living thing that I know that would choose to sleep on the floor on a rug in America would be Wiggles. (my dog) :D
Ever tried tea? I have and to tell the honest truth, i hate it. Just doesn't taste right for me. But living in Japan it's traditional to drink tea, i guess you don't have to like it you just have to drink it. In America, its just a regular drink to maybe order with a meal or to have as a refreshment but if its the only choice you have for a drink option and don't like it, then you pretty much have to drink it or dehydrate yourself from no liquids. And personally, who would want to do that?
I absolutely love the colors and flowers in a garden. Thats what Japans all about is pretty gardens and colors. A garden in America can be pretty but its mostly pretty full on vegetables to eat and once it gets cold outsdie the garden is no longer pretty. It looks like a brown mess. How ugly, right?
Want a rice paper door? I do, well if I lived in Japan I would, but in America I'm not sure it would last too long. We have a tendacy to slam doors pretty hard when we're angry. I think it would break really easy. Rice paper doors slide and we have doors that slide too. We just don't use them how Japanese people use them...
About to close this blog up and get it over with :D Too much typing for me..

Shutting Themselves In

Hikikomori, in other words withdrawl, shutting yourself in for longer than 6 months. What I want to know is why would someone want shut themselves out of the world like that and not have any interaction with the world besides via internet. It's crazy!! I feel that they need help by anyone that can give them help!! Because you only live once and you can't just hide away and miss out on everything!!

Personally, I dont know anyone like this or who would want to be apart of this, but I'm sure theres tons of people in this world that are.

Loads of teenage groups probably do this, and the only ones that I'm aware that would think about doing it is the boys and girls that describe themselves as "Emo" or"Gothic".

These teenagers differ a lot from Hikikomori because "Emo" or "Goth" people want to let people know they are by dressing it or having the attitude of one! Hikikomori's just shut themselves away and want no one to know who they are or what they're doing. Its so sad to me. I just want to go to Japan and help them in any way I can!!

Learning something new!

I've been in a Foreign Language class for 2 weeks and I pretty much love it! I'm starting to think that i like it more than I did Spanish class. Sorry Mrs. S! :) We've learning Japanese first and it's been so much fun already. I've learned more about Japan in 2 weeks than I've learned ever before!! Let me tell you, it's pretty cool!!

But, you know what I wish I knew more about? The lives of the teenagers in Japan. Like what they do for fun, what they wear, and what kinda cars they drive. I wonder if they drive cars like the kind they drove on the Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift? That'd be awesome, I would ride in their car anyday of the week ending in y. HAHA :) Or just get one of those cars for myself and have it all the time!!!!
Well, before I end this blog, there are just so many places that I want to brag about that I would like to see!! Like one of my dreams and goals in my life is to stay awake on a flight to Tokyo.. But knowing me I would probably fall asleep after being on the plane for just 5 minutes. But even though I dont like Japanese food, theres always a McDonalds around every corner :)
